What is NPA? The NonProfit Alliance is a collaboration among some 400 non-profit organizations in and around Monroe County.  Its mission is to to enrich the local community by strengthening the nonprofit sector through communication, collaboration, professional development and outreach. 
Why NPA? Monroe County is a community that respects all its citizens and provides opportunities for everyone to participate fully and to reach his or her highest potential.  Nonprofits in Monroe County help the community become that place! 
What is the NPA Weekly Update?
An electronic newsletter that keeps the nonprofit community informed about events, funding opportunities, trainings, job openings, personnel transitions, professional resources, and new research.  To receive the Weekly Update or submit information for publication, contact the NPA Secretary at npa@npamc.org or signup

What does NPA do? The NonProfit Alliance...
  • Keeps nonprofits well informed about available funding opportunities
  • Serves as a trusted source of information and resources for the nonprofit community and its supporters
  • Fosters communication among nonprofit organizations
  • Promotes networking opportunities among nonprofits to help them stay informed about each other’s services and concerns
  • Facilitates collaborative projects among nonprofits and with other sectors
  • Provides professional and volunteer development opportunities to enhance the fiscal, managerial and programmatic health of local nonprofits
  • Supports nonprofits’ efforts to have an equitably compensated workforce
  • Advocates on behalf of the nonprofit community
  • Represents the diversity of nonprofit organizations in the community 
  • Communicates effectively with the public about the needs and issues of nonprofits
Who runs NPA? NPA is an all-volunteer organization. It is governed by a Steering Committee, which sets goals and policies within the framework established by the membership and provides guidance to the other committees. 
How is NPA structured? NPA's main committee focuses on Training, Outreach, and Networking. There's TONs of work to be done. If you're interested in helping, contact the coordinator at npa@npamc.org
